i just heard on reefcentral that if you are using an eclipse as a reef tank to take out the Bio-Wheel. Can anyone confirm this?

I have a 29 gallon Marineland eclipse with 1 Flourescent and 1 actinic blue. My LFS said i do not have enough light for corals. Can anyone tell me if this is enough light or what is the best upgrade if i dont have enough?

I started my tank about 3 weeks ago and now i have a polyp looking thing on one of my rocks.It closes up when a fish swims by.Can anyone tell me what it is?
