  2. Pictures (but camera is so-so)

looks good - I like what you did with the rockwork. Alot of starfish though. What are you feeding them all ? I would think that its going to be hard to get anykind of critter population going with 3 in a 37. Good job so far- Brian
  3. Is this fish aging and going to die? Or wrong food? (pic i

He does look a little skinny. What are you feeding? Is he bullied by the other one? He looks "old" like a human would look old - sullen, sunken "cheeks" - but I dont think fish would show aging like a human. Id look into what you are feeding him first and see if you cant fatten him up with some...
  4. Is this fish aging and going to die? Or wrong food? (pic i

also- my clownfish darkened once they started hosting in my xenia. I think they sometimes get darker when they host Brian
  5. Is this fish aging and going to die? Or wrong food? (pic i

The new one probably became the female, thats why its bigger. If you have a mated pair, one should be larger than the other. Congrats. BTW, got a little xenia goin on there. Good luck Brian

  8. Moved tank-now mysterious problems

I wonder about your top-off water. Are you using an RO/DI or Tap or bottled. If you were using tap the new water at the new place could be different in mineral/metal content etc. Just a thought, good luck. I move my 40 gal 2 hours this weekend. Brian
  9. Check out this site!

  10. Check out this site!

This is actually pretty common now (maybe still stupid, but its done). Alot of the whites in S. Africa are pretty tame do to all the feeding while researching, and are just looking for an easy free meal. Theyve also discovered (who was the first to try, I dont know - but they sure were...
  11. Electrical help...please

Sounds like some stray power in your ground -Usually the house is the path of least resistance but you took that job over - could be a big problem if something fails, sends a lot of power to ground and you touch that bare wire. Get the 3 prong cable off and replace it with a 2 prong extension...
  12. How can I clean my small water pump?

If its calcium buildup run it in diluted distilled vinegar in a bucket for a day or so - cleans up real nice... Good luck- Brian
  13. why southdown why not silica?

I have both Quickrete Play sand (The Brown "silica" stuff) and Southdown in my tank. I had only the Quickrete in there for about 3 months and I had no problem. I put in the southdown on top because it looks better. I thought that the play sand that everyone refers to as "Silica" was actually...
  14. Annoying Algae (? & pics)

Ive had briopsys - I pulled it out (It does come out in clumps). It came back. I pulled it out again - it came back. I did this about 3 or 4 times and then it never came back. There is also a nudibranch (lettuce) which supposedly eats it - mine all go sucked into powerheads before they got a...
  15. Shark Attack update...

But why do we believe the newspapers? The whole thing didn't sound right to me in the beginning. Ive had a hard time getting a 40" striper on shore, on a line, how did he get one of the fastest and most powerfull fish in like that, just by hand? Brian
