hello everyone... i recently moved and will be selling my reef...it has been running for 3 years... i have a 125 gal reef, three MH's, skimmer, acrylic sump, etc the tank is filled with about 200#s of figi LR and all kinds of corals (mostly softies)... i also have a 12" magnifica anemone...

heres what i got that got me thinkin about scapin in the first place...its a brown algae that seems to grow on top of the coraline...and the coraline seems faded... from another post on RC... "....coralline, covered by Lobophora variagata (brown wafer) in its early stage. The coralline grows...

oh i love it!... :lol: i just dont like how it looks on the back glass...and i wonder if i scrape it will i be inviting other unwanted algae(s) in its place?... i guess i could scrape it off and crumble it up in the return flow...???....or maybe just let it drop to the back of the tank...

i notice that some people seem to scrape the coraline off the back glass...im starting to think i like this look... is there any benefit to keeping it on?... from a post a couple years ago... "If you have your back glass covered with coraline algae aren't you increasing the amount of calcium...

royy my standpipe is pretty high in my overflow, and it has a durso "L" on it...i dont think that many bubbles make it to the bottom of the overflow... la lawman he uses the flex tube up to "loc-line" at the top of the tank, that he can direct where he wants... he also mentioned that he has...

are the 10K hamilton bulbs the same as the ushio 10Ks?...just labeled different?... i have three of the ushio's over my 125 gal reef right now, and have been really happy with them...but its time to replace them and i thought about saving about $25 per bulb and going with the hamilton's...

NKT and JawsK2 great pic!... where did you guys get yours?...i see that marine center has them from time to time and a LFS in chicago (old town aquarium) also has them occasionally...but i think they are at least $200 at both places... thanks brad

not sure if this is news or not?... i found IO salt at my local petsmart for $29.99 for the 200 gal bucket... im not sure if this is just a local sale or if this is gonna be the price from now on... brad

dan well, i know i can get BHs that are slip on one end threaded on the other...or slip on both...or threaded on both... i think my best bet might be to use the slip BHs and glue a decent length piece of PVC to it, then use a union fitting hooked to that...then on to the sump... if i have to...

on my 125 gal drilled RR tank i have 1" BHs for drains and 3/4" returns in both overflows... i wanna replace my flex tubing with flex (or hard) PVC... regarding the drain BH thats in the overflow, how should i plumb the drain line so i can take the overflow BHs out in the future if...
