That was much easier than I thought it would be. The sponges popped right off the rock. My Palythoa looks much happier now.

Sounds like you have an infestation of copods. You're doing something right. :D you have nothing to worry about.

That's what I wanted to hear. I'll remove it once I return from out of town so I can watch the tank after. Luckily it's only on the one piece of coral and hasn't spread yet...although I can see it trying to move to another piece of LR.

I'm trying. :) My new Rebel XTi has a broken flash already and I don't have the lens to get in there that tight, but here's a couple more.

Any suggested removal methods? Is there a critter that feeds on this?

It's more of a bright yellow color, but I'll go with your assessment. It's safe I take it? :)

It has a tube like structure to it. Resembles a Sea Squirt...it may even be a Sea Squirt but I'm not positive.

I'm talking about the Yellow spongish looking thing. Thanks for the help. The brown Palythoa comes from the Sea of Cortez
