  2. Nominations for MACNA award

Considering the recent events, I think that Greg Scheimer should be nominated for a posthumous award. His vast contributions to this hobby are at least equal to any of the previous winners. This is a perfect way for him to be memorialized.
  3. Coral ID please

Just because a coral is common or easy to get, doesn't mean it's easy to keep. I would venture to say that the Euphyllia's (hammer, frog spawn, candy cane) you mention require medium to high light, moderate flow and placement is important. All have stingers that will sting each other or other...
  4. Coral ID please

I have to agree with Jim, while the poll results show the opposite, with 15+ years experience in this hobby and from daily reading about 8 different forums, the real answer is one of the two: Hope and pray buy that you buy it and it will live without any research. Buy it and have others ID it...

  7. MR's Nano Reef Tank Contest ?

My thoughts on "official" nano size: In math nano is defined as being a billionth or .000001. In other words, it's very small. IMO, tanks should be considered nano when their size is a fraction of the average tank size. While determing a national average of tank size would be a feat in itself...

  11. Metal Lighting for nano cube 12g

I'm partial to metal halide, so I'm gonna tell you to get the MH. If you're gonna get the Sunpod, spend the extra $20 and get the 150w. However, you will be just fine with the PC's. But if you're going to spend the money, why limit yourself?
  12. I Believe Im ready to go to the world of sps, some thoughts

Whoa cowboy!!..I have never considered that answering a post as a waste of effort or time. Interesting point of view since forums are built on the idea of the sharing information and knowledge.
  13. I Believe Im ready to go to the world of sps, some thoughts

I think you could definitely try montipora. Before doing it I would add the Rio 2500. I'd probably put it in the center on one end with the attachment that widens the flow and put the other 2 powerheads on the opposite end. Pointing each cross tank towards opposite corners. This should mix up...
