UPDATES:
Post #9 - background painted and tank filled
Post #31 - BoostLED.com par 30 reef lamp kit arrival

---------------------------------------------------------

So it didn't take long for me to get the itch to setup another nano reef tank. I sold my Fluval EDGE to a friend of mine and seeing it setup again made me wanna get another setup. I picked up this 7 gallon rimless tank from Mike AKA xxfirewaterxx - a great guy who's always willing to help a fellow MR out!

I'm always looking to save money as a broke college student but that's especially true when it comes to this build. Mike wanted to see me get back into the hobby and was nice enough to sell me this setup very cheap and I really appreciated that.

7 GALLON RIMLESS SETUP:
-Topfin 15w heater
-Hydor 240gph powerhead
-BoostLED par 30 reef lamp kit

I have one nice piece of rock a friend gave me just need to get some sand and another nice piece of live rock and I'll be ready to start my cycle.

Yes a very quick comeback indeed and my mom is pissed off about it to say the least haha. I'm just gonna keep 2 smaller clowns in this tank and mostly soft corals...no anemone this time around! I learned my lesson the hard way with that one lol

What do you guys think about the positioning of my powerhead? I figured the back glass on the opposite side of my filter would be best. I'm also not too sure how this heater will work out but for $15 I figured I'd give it a shot since it'll save me a ton of space in my filter for more media. Right now with my AC blasting in my room the digital thermometer is reading about 77-80 so I should be okay.

If you plan to keep small clowns please keep this in mind and its recommended to make a mesh cover so you wont have any of your clowns jumping out while your away or sleeping. Best of luck with you new set up keep us updated =)

UPDATE:

I sprayed the back of the tank with plasti-dip today and got it filled up! I did a terrible job taping the tank and made 2 extra hours worth of work cleaning up but I'm glad I did because the tank looks brand new now.

Got it positioned right where I want it and after picking up another piece of live rock it was time to fill it up.
I did not use live sand since my friend had this extra sand that I really liked. Not sure how I feel about the rockscape but it works for now.

I made sure to go very slowing adding water so the tank is crystal clear already. The filter has a sponge and a thing of Chemi-Pure debating the biowheel...opinions?

Any feedback is appreciated!

Thanks everybody and jaa1456 I'll be using a par 30 from BoostLED.com
For those with that light setup how many hours a day do you leave your light on?

With my Wingo Savior LED it was adjustable but with this it's simply on or off.
