I need to heat about a gallon of water up to 95-100 or so F safely...

Hello friend and welcome, thank you for posting!

I am positive nothing can beat the tetra preset heaters, any wattage.
I use the 50w in a gallon I think?

Large heaters don't overheat a pico, thats a misnomer. Several vases of mine in the past had 100w heaters. Wattage doesn't matter, only what will fit in your tank and has a thermostat.
you can't beat the preset 78 degree tetras...

I wouldn't use a pad heater either, just one of those tetras

please give us pics of your new pico if you can

Will a heater preset to 78f heat a gallon of water up to 95F? That doesn't make sense to me.

Azoo makes a small titanium 50w heater but it's going to fall a little short as I think the max setting is barely above 90F.
