Mmmmm, pretty much and wouldn't have been the slightest ashamed either. it's a very short list, I promise! You gonna get a few more? I have seen a tank with several at aquarium, def looks cool

if this one does well then i would get a few more.
i saw a tank full of them at mystic aquarium in connecticut last time i was there which was a year or two ago. they also had a cool seahorse tank and "petting tanks" with rays, stars, crabs, etc.
not a big place but highly recommended.

NICE.... how big do these eels get and what to feed it. Do they bother anything in the tank

dom would know more than i....this is what i know.

most useful info. were from public aquarium that display them. about a foot and a half full grown. the deeper the sand bed the better(4-10" were the recommended range). feed on floating zoo-plankton....in captivity, fed with frozen mysis, plankton, cycolpeeze, newly hatched brine, etc. doesn't compete for food..only sits in the hole and wait for food to float by. no aggressive tank mate. do better in a species tank. no info. about being reef safe with corals. liveaquaria has it under expert only....but didn't state why.

i saw dom fed him mysis but he said this one will eat anything. so far i haven't seen him poke his head out more than a couple of inches from the hole to eat mysis that i was feeding the rizo.

this one is about 14-16" or so. i assumed it's full grown. dom had it for a year or more.

Don't everyone go crazy buying these guys up. They have a horrible track record. They are super timid and will starve versus coming out of the sand to eat if they are uncomfortable or unhappy with their environment. That aquarium in Conn. replaces them constantly. I charged a premium for mine because it was aquarium proven over a long period of time AND I was not going to sell it to just anyone.

When they are settled they will eat most prepared foods and need to be fed often and a variety of foods. Tom's eats flakes, cyclopeeze, pellets and frozen mysis. I've even fed it BBS.

what dom said is absolutely true. i was so excited about getting this guy and didn't think that my updates/postings may make others run out and buy one. i didn't even think of getting one until now because i've never seen any of them ever able to be sustained in a personal tank for a good length of time. i would not have gotten it if it wasn't aquarium proven.

btw it came out and ate a couple of pellets and flakes when i was feeding the other fishes and richie (rkaragozler) was here to see it... i'm getting some live tigger pods tomorrow to see if i can get it to eat more.
