We are aware that so many of you are regretful that we were moving toward an online only operation. We have received numerous letters and phone calls of complaints or concerns, and quite frankly this concerns us as well. We do not like to forget who buttered our bread or who salted our water for lack of better words.

Therefore, in response to your numerous requests, we would like to say " Come on Down".

As in our original posts, we ask that you kindly give Peter, our new manager, a call to advise of your possible visit, so that we may be sure we are able to provide you all the attention you deserve. We are undergoing major overhauls both in staff, and systems, and operations, and livestock is constantly coming in and being inventoried for you all.

If you do prefer to purchase online, we still have excellent rates and free box charges within the tri state area, and all coral is WYSIWYG. Tri State freight is $25, and free freight in USA over $200.

For those that have seen us in action, we think you know, that no one walks away from MAX REEF with any buyers remorse.

Our tentative hours will be Mon-Fri 10-6, and Thurs Evenings tip 8pm.

I have spent a couple of grand each year for the past idk 4-5 years at least, yes each year because a fish tank is a pass time thing for me, it does not define me therefore I kill things from time to time.

What I have learned is that if I find an online vendor with good prices and affordable shipping I stick with them.

Having been a business owner in the past as well I guess i comprehend the reason for this post this thread, however...

if you are moving to an online business model with good prices on fish and reasonable shipping, stick with it, trust me, plenty of us appreciate such a business model. When you compare time, gas, tolls to a reasonable shipping fee, it costs me/us more to drive to a pet store then to order online.

Continue with your business model, if you stick with it, it will work and shipping takes you beyond the tri-state market.

For those of you complaining, dont you have a life? if the shippping fee is truly this low, is your time not worth more than the shipping fee that Max Reef is charging? Stay home, buy online, pay $25ish shipping!

Given that i had no idea that your website was ready i had not ordered.

I just subscribed to the in stock notification for a midas and a couple of wrasses that I have been meaning to buy. The minute they are in stock my order is in.

With shipping so cheap I dont have to fill my cart to reach the free shipping threshold.

That is sweet. For me it's a two hours drive, but it's that pleasure of picking out your livestock worth all the toll, gas and time. I not only there to buy stuff, I am also there to see other things in the tanks and it gives me pleasures. Online doesn't have that same feeling. Thank you for reconsidering a walk-ins hours for folks like me. Of course online order is great also as sometime I see stuff I want to buy but doesn't have the time to drive so I opt to order it, so for me it's the best of both world.

I thank you for your post,?..at this time, we feel an obligation to our client base. Yes, the shipping and online business model is an attractive feature, and many will take advantage of it. However, as you said, "aquariums are a past time for you"?..and for many, part of this "past time" and hobby is taking part in the treats of "EYE CANDY" and seeing in the flesh, different species, making a mental wish list, conversng with other people in the hobby, and even perhaps, a reason for getting out of the house for a few hours.
Having said that, we are encouraging you all, to pay a visit, for some they wil do it, for others, $25 door to door shipping, has better value and to many time is money.
