Ok, I'm gonna try this idea out and see if we can have a little fun with eye candy. I'm always a sucker for photography (for me, it's a close second to reefkeeping). To be honest, it's also a nice way to promote the Photo Gallery Forum :P

So .....
Show us your beautiful tangs! :)

Len -

I've been doing this awhile, and I've never heard of a black tang! Maybe it's just me, but is this a common one? Do you know the scientific name? I'll post a picture of mine at some point...just a yellow, but very special to me. Aw, how cheesy.

BB - There are several tangs that will be fine in a 75. I have the same size, and a pretty large yellow tang. You can keep scopas (brown) tangs, yellows, convicts, koles, small clown tangs, and lots of others. The samller you get them, the better, so that they aren't used to living in large open spaces. Putting large wild caught tangs in 75 gal is a bit risky if you ask me.

I really need to complete the work on this tank before I do. I want to install a sump and move the skimmer, upgrade lighting. Then maybe I will look at getting a tang.

Oh, BTW. If no one has said it yet.

Welcome to Reefs.org

dolphitec, klingsa, & jinjit. I see your all fairly new here. Nice tangs and I have read some good posts by you folks.

Zebrasoma rostratum.

It's a rare fish from the Line/Christmas Islands.

One warning: don't open the pandoras box that is rare fish ;) Your bank account will hate you for it.

Zebrasoma rostratum is the black tang. Not a common fish by any means...they range from $125 to $350, depending on the area it's being sold in. :)

Dammit, Len...I was hoping to beat you to it.

Oh well, at least you warned her about the 'rare fish empty wallet' disease...

:D

Peace,

Chip
