Howdy
Im a wanna be amature photographer. I have a Kodak EasyShare CX4300 (my intro into digicams) and a Canon EOS Rebel X w 2 lenses, a Canon 30-80 1:4 5.6 and a Canon 80-200 1:4 5.6. I hate flashes and tend to use fast film, usually iso 800 at least, but am wanting to get better shots and learn to use the f-stops, aprature and shutter speed settings. below is one of my first digital pics of my tank. The flash washed the color, but it turned out OK otherwise :D

Nice fridmani, Scott! The color didn't turn out too bad on the fish. I have the same problem- can't take fish pics worth a crap. Well, except for my bicolor blenny. He sits still for a little while.

No, no flash- just tank lighting. That pic was just on automatic, macro mode. Actually, I have a bunch of photos that turned out crisper than that of the blenny, but my PC is bungled up and my photoshop is missing, so I can't even crop it down enough to post it.

I am still dealing with it.

Here's a reminder for you, smarty! ;)

K, tell ya what-

My work cd-rom drive is messed up, and I guess they don't let us use USB ports here (which is friggin lame). But, when I get that fixed, I can bring in the disc with the SJC pics and start our own thread.

Sorry for the thread hijacking, Scott- it's seamaiden's fault! :P

Well....
I ditched the Kodak, it was just not what I had in mind, and got a Fiji Finepix 3800 6X optical zoom!

WOO HOO! Now this is a camera!

Sweet! I'd like to have a bigger optical zoom myself. Digital zoom is completely worthless, unless you happen to like crappy pictures.

This Fuji ROCKS! Its got manual mode (A must if you wanna get good pics) and MPEG mode for 60 sec movies.

Me and Paula are going to Biltmore estate and staying at a Bed and Breakfast this weekend, so I hope to get some good pics, and some good husband wife time (read: no kids :D)

Cool. I've been to the Biltmore several times. My folks live near Asheville, so it's just a little jaunt. They get year passes.

You don't drink, Scott, do you? Still, check out the winery there. Surprisingly good varietals.

Nah, I don't do wine, but they have a great sparkling grape juice! Good hickory farms-esqe shop at the winery too. I went when it was still a dairy and remember the best black cherry icecream money could buy!
