My 65gallon SPS Reef:
65gal AGA with hang-on overflow
4 maxijet 1200's for flow
30gal Refugium with mag5 for return
Lighting-2 175w ushios 2 NO actinics
4" DSB, 110lbs of rock+branch
Fish--2 Blue/green chromis, 1 small purple tang, 1 alage blenny.
Corals--about 20 or so various acro and montipora frags, a couple of small colonies, derasa+ squamosa clam a couple LPS and some other stuff.

Calcium and alkalinity is kept solely by dripping limewater with vinegar. I maintain water parameters of Cal 440ppm, alk 3.2-3.5meq/l, nitrates 0.0ppm.

I realize that may lighting is not really bright enough for a full blown SPS reef but I keep all my corals high up to compensate for the lack of light. I also Realize that most people skim their SPS reefs and have great success---but everything seems to be going well for now. I am actually debating weather or not I should skim.

Im sure a lot of people have a lot to say about this system. Am I setting myself up for disaster? Let me have it...LOL

Awesome. Man, I grew up in a ghetto and no one had fish tanks like that...

Sorry to hear about that.

Your Acro looks pretty good though, and I betcha it'll color back up. Good luck.

I think your tank looks great! To skim or not to skim, that is the question. Tell you what- if you're not having algae troubles, then what the heck? I also think that your lighting is pretty good- on a 65 the simple fact that they cover less space should mean your 2 175s work pretty effectively.

Welcome to RDO, and keep the pics coming!
