Mind if I ask how much you gave for it?

My first SLR was(is) a Rebel, and I was looking at the Digital Rebel is an upgrade from my Fiji 3800 down the road.

Nice moon shot. Did you use a filter? I always get glare.

It was $999 at Best Buy with the basic lens. We also got the 75-300mm telephoto for $229 and a couple filters (Best Buy has a deal going where if you buy a digital camera and 4 accessories, you get 10% off the accessories). Grand total was just over $1300.

I'm nothing but pleased with it so far! Taking it to its first soccer match tomorrow, so we'll see how the predictive autofocus handles itself.

Hey Sharkky, I work at Best Buy in Avon and I drool over that camera every day. I get a discount on it, but its not a lot. It's still out of my price range unfortunately

Hey Alex, welcome to RDO! Great to meet a fellow Indy-area reefer!! :)

Yeah I'm in love with the canon. I've taken it on two shoots at soccer games so far and am amazed at the quick autofocus and the quality in low-light conditions. Even at ISO 1600 there's very little grain. As soon as I get some of the shots through post work (which is almost nil for this camera, I've found) I'll throw some of them up here.
