for what its worth, a quick summary of the 10 photo contests (to date)

2 were 'Wild' (#6 & #8 ) whereas 8 were aquarium photos, it doesnt appear to be any advantage for the 'Wild' phtoto's to me. 8O

Could it be that people look at the wild pictures and believe they just can't compete? Sometimes thats the way I feel. I think the concern has come up because of the latest contest, "Predators", in which the majority of pics seem to be wild.

Well, most predators are too big to fit in a little boxes that we have.

There are some awesome "wild" photos, but it is fair to say that composition, lighting and other aspect are more difficult compare to "studio" photo that we can do on our tank. Personally, I take the location of the photo into consideration when voting for the photo of the month.

.... besides, 2 out of sample size of 10 is statistically insignificant anyway ;)

LOULE I think that you are missing Azcaddman's point. Azcaddman was disproving the prior complaints about wild photos having an unfair advantage in the contests.

A good photo is a good photo. <=Period

Many of the tank shots make me not want to compete more than the wild shots.
