It's called a tuxedo urchin. It is reef safe. It's diet consists of algae algae and more algae! He is about an inch wide. When it gets full grown it will be about 2 - 3 inches wide. It is very sensitive to alkalinity swings.

So, does he just clean the sand surface for norishment? Doesn't strip the live rock? He looks nice, with a blue look to him.

Tuxedos are beautiful. They're good algavores, and go right after hair algae. Last one I tried died, though, so I haven't tried adding another.

When he starts "dressing himself" with stuff, he is a happy camper!
