do you know what kind of hermit that is and where I can get one?

It's not a halloween hermit, at least not like the usual ones that come through the LFS. I suspect that it IS related to them, though. Typical Halloween hermits have broad orange and black/grey bands, whereas this guy has very thin orange and dark red bands with some white highlights here and there.

No idea what kind he really is, where he came from, etc. I got him from Premium Aquatics about two years ago. I was in picking up some snails and stuff, and they had just this one of them alone in a section of the display tank. He was like $4 or $6 or something.

The latin name for that hermit is on the tip of my tongue , Siganus genus maybe?

Cool pic - I have an alveopora in my tank that polyps out a lot more - beautiful coral, I've had it about 6 mos with marginal growth but it is healthy.

Ahh I found the species I was thinking of - look up Trizopagurus strigatus Sharkky - they are supposedly only marginally reef safe from what I recall - looks like he's wearing a cone shell on his back too - a real tough crab :)
