What I am wondering, is Photoshop better than other photo editing softeware? Or are they really the same? I don't have it, I use "PhotoImpression 2000" the software that came with my HP digital camera, and I wonder if I am missing out. I would buy it if I thought it would help me improve my pics above what I can do now. I just never had a chance to fool around with it so I don't know if I should buy it.

Photoshop is the best graphics editing program currantly on the market!

you can't get anything better then it!

However, unless your serious about editing images then keep with photo impressions, it will do most things you want without problems, its when you want to change things in the photo thats when you wanna go with Photoshop, but alas, if you want it, get it once you get over the learning curve photoshop is very very good!

Since it's been brought up again, I'll add another voice of agreement: nothing beats PS .... not even close.

Yes, PS is nice, but for some functions, PaintShop Pro is a little more "friendly" for me..

Haven't used much of Corel's software in so long I have no clue what any of those are like any more... :?

I use PS exclusively for Photo editing, at which it excels.
However, if I want to, for example, add text over an image, I typically import it into Fireworks MX instead. Fireworks is awful at image editing, however, it does wonders working with web graphics, allowing much more precise positioning of text, etc. , and it is easier to use to boot.
