Man, those are some awesome pics! You should try setting the aperture for 8 or 11 or something like that, and use a flash; that way you get that focal depth thats the only thing askew in your pics!
Can you even do that with your camera? My mom's Sony point and shoot 5mp peice of crud doesnt allow for almost any manual settings, despite costing $500!
I noticed that an aperture of 8 on the f-stop, with all the lights in the room off (dark, except for the aquarium lights), combined with good 400 or 800 speed film (ISO equivalent on your digital) and an exposure of 1/125ths of a second or less (less for still pictures and on a tripod, of course!) makes for some nice pics. That size aperture gives you better focal depth without sacrificing much in terms of color and saturation and whatnot.
