These guys are hard to get a clear shot of, mine never stops moving when he's not behind the rocks.

Thanks!

It is a Splendid dottyback. Unfortunatly it is a mean fish and needs a speices tank. On top of that it loves to live most of its life inside the caves of the rock or behind the rock work so I hardly see him as much as I would like.

i did a quick research on the net and i havent found any splendid that color. Most of them are yellow with blue spotted and the yellow tail...

Maybe there is different color? do you know a little bit more?
Its agressive vs other dottyback but its okay with your other fish?
How big is your tank?

There are a couple Pseudochromis species that look pretty similar to P. splendens. If you have S. Michael's "500 fishes" book there's an unID'd one in there that looks very similar to P. splendens.

Any way, great shot of a cool looking fish! What other fish do you have in the tank, if any?

Thanks, its the only fish in my young SPS tank. The tank is a 20 L but will be upgraded to a 40 breeder in about a year when some of the frags have matured a bit. When I move it to the 40 it will still be the only fish, I have heard it can be aggresive to many other fish so I don't intend to mix it with others at all. I am happy with this tank being very low bioload. This will also allow be an easier time dosing DT's as the tank matures.
