My ocellaris clown pair spawn regularly, but this is one of the few times where they have laid the eggs facing the front of my aquarium. The eggs hatched a couple of days after these photos were taken.

Interesting observation: The male does the vast majority of the egg tending.

I love those pictures. I wish my guys would spawn. Do you have any pictures of them hatched, or are they in a tank situation where they are going to be someone's lunch?

Unfortunately, they are in a community reef tank. I have never witnessed the eggs hatching or the fry swimming. The sources I have looked at say the eggs hatch at night. Taking an educated guess, my pair of clowns has spawned between 50-100 times in the 11 1/2 years I have had them.

Wow, that's like spawning every month... 8)

Did you ever try to remove the eggs and see if you can save any of them?

I really haven't had the time to try to set up a system to rear the young. Clownfish fry are very small and need organisms like rotifers for their first food. It is kind of sad to think of how many of those eggs have hatched, but never had an opportunity to live.

My clownfish usually spawn at 3 week intervals (my guess) during the warmer months, and not at all during the colder ones.

I give you a pat on the back for keeping them for 11.5 years...

Nice pics! I can't for the life of me get a good pic of our clownfish eggs... granted they usually lay them inside a moonsnail shell. :D

We've tried raising them before (ours lay eggs every 2-3 weeks) but were never successful. I'm onto trying seahorse fry now ;)

I have had a pair of True Percula Clowns for more then 3 years and I've never seen them spawn. I don't know if the diet is incorrect of if other fish eat them right away. I have a Yellow Hawia Tang and some Yellow Tail Dammsals. I would like to see them spawn and see if I can do some trading with the young clowns. What are some of the sets I should take to help my pair spawn?
