Yeah they take a bit to come out, but once they do they are always out.

What lens you using ?

it is the Nikon AF-S VR 105mm f/2.8G IF-ED Micro on a D50 body.
has the fastest focus motor i've ever had, nice for quick fish.
the Vibration Reduction doesn't work in Macro Shots, but still pretty cool.

I was looking into that lens too. I plan to stay in Asia for 1 month & opted for an all in one lens for now 18-200 VR.

did you consider any other Micro/macro lens?

i have the same lens and it was good with my D50 but i was not getting its full potential until i updated to the D80. the VR lens work best with the new line of nikons

the lens was on sale at J and R for a couple hundred bucks off.

I didn't look into any others, bought this after using my brothers, he did all the research for me, I reap all the rewards, since i got a better deal than him..
