OT Shots - Orchids

Was at a friends BBQ yesterday who is a full time arranger for a wedding shop out in LI - she had these on her tables and I just couldn't resist. Couple others as well from the garden.

Oh, and anyone who is interested, this is a Nikon D40 with a kit lens.

Gorgeous...but the "blue" dendrobiums are dyed...similar to the way kids put celery stlaks into food coloring. There are no true blue orchids, although some pretty good lavender blues..

yeah, it's the 18-55 - but I sharpen the pictures once with p-shop to crispen them up. I have always had a relatively steady hand though.
