I but in a sock in my sump but my ? Is it better to have a sock in it or not. Cuz i do have a refugium also.

IMO: I think it is good as it collects all the big particles that go down the drain tube, less work for the skimmer and less work for your refugium to wait for the bigger stuff to decompose before your refugium can deal with it.......... BUT! it should be washed regularly also or it becomes part of the problem.
That's just IMO ;-)

Yeah thats my understanding of it also. But they also say that it traps the pods in the refugium. And i change the socks every week when i do a water change.

I don't see an issue with that. It's the way most of us have it set-up and pods still seem to find a way to get around the system completely.

Normally i use a sock when i clean my tank to collect all the debris from cleaning then next day i take it out.
