so i have the viper 150 watt on my 29 g biocube and i am not happy.....

i know you need to add the blue antic lighting to supplement and add vibrance

but my little biocube is hott as is and i dont want to run two different lighting system because it will heat up to much // and its a pain in the butt. lol

so my question what is a great bulb than i can use that will give me that phoresent affect to my coral.

14000k is not enough but i think 20000k looks so artificial so help please

sounds like a bio-cube poorly designed. the cooling fan the manufacturer designed into your cube wasn't enough to keep it within safe operating tempertures. and you probably can't put a bigger exhaust fan in due to hacking into a handsome thing like a bio-cube.

besides all that, a bio-cube isn't intended by design to be fitted with more lights of any kind without chopping some plastic in your own workshop.

if space permits you might look into an LED strip which could be stuck to the bottom side of the hood in order to accomadate your desire for more blue.

Mike, I don't think he is using the original hood because I believe (and I could be wrong) the viper is a clip on and you need to remove the hood to use it. Anyways, as far as the heat goes, facing a standing fan or a clip on fan should help. In terms of looks...the bluer you go the more you sacrifice in growth. If color is a bigger priority then by all means go bluer. I'd go with one of the above suggestions and supplement with some LEDs because they give off very little heat.
