Just had a few questions about moving everything from my Aquapod to my 30G tank later today.

The two tanks are currently sitting right next to each other, but I would like to move my 30G into the same place where my Aquapod currently is.

The 30G only has sand, maybe 5 pounds of rock, and about 10 gallons of water circulating/aerating with a powerhead. The Aquapod is still fully stocked. I have two 5 gallon buckets that I use for water changes.

Here's what I was thinking:
- Fill one bucket with water and livestock (fish/inverts).
- Fill the other bucket with the LR and corals from the old tank.
- Pump the excess water from the AP into the new tank and discard the sand.
- Shift the now empty AP forward (away from the wall).
- Pump the water from the new tank back into the AP.
- Shift the new tank (tank, stand, sand and rock) into its final place.
- Put the LR and corals into the new tank.
- Refill the new tank with water from the AP and get everything circulating for a bit.
- When everything settles, put fish/inverts into the new tank.

It seems a bit convoluted, but will this work okay or should I do things differently? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I am a little confused... Has the new tank cycled???? You have sand and rock in that tank? If not cycled yet are you worried about recycle with current livestock in the tank?

The new tank originally had dead sand plus a few live rocks from my Aquapod that I transferred over earlier in the week. I figure I will probably experience a mini cycle when I move everything over but I planned on doing a couple of water changes in the new tank no matter what.

Ok, just wanted to make sure you took that into consideration!
