i have a 57 gallon with a 20 gallon sump and i do 10 gallon water changes.

should i do a water change every week or every 2 weeks?
hard to tell without pics, and more info (such as amount of LR, sand, skimmer, etc) but I would guess that you have less than 60g actual water volume...so 10g every 2 weeks would be doing good!
IMO, it is better to change the 10g all at once, rather than 2 smaller changes.

When i had my first tank (a 55+20) i had about 90lbs of rock and i changed 15 gallons every 2 weeks. Sometimes 20 (the entire sump).

My girfriend never recorded any kind of spike EVER on her notebook.
(I make her do all the tests weekly, lol)

I do 25g now on my 90+20.

Natural reefs get a 100% water change every few seconds lol
