I have 4-6 emerald crabs and one of them is constantly on top of my zoo frag. Actually he goes at it on my mushroom and the zoo frag. I doubt he's cleaning anything b/c now the frag looks a bit lifted from its plug/platform.

Should I get rid of the crab or give it a few more days (been 3 days since I added the frags)?

Thank you!!! Actually, I will isolate them and get rid of them. Any ideas what to replace them with? Maybe cleaner shrimp?

They are very good cleaners and in sometimes are very effective against hair algae. But they can only do so much if you don't keep your phosphates and nitrates in check. 4 emeralds is a good amount for your tank.

A good assortment of small snails will be a better clean up crew.
Nassarius snails for the substrate are especially good at keeping things clean. With your tank it would be a good idea to keep 1 per gallon.

Guys, this little guy is a beast- just took out one of my large turbos. But the turbo wasn't looking healthy and the crab probably took advantage LOL
This sucker just pulled a massive turbo and dragged it up the LR to consume!
