Biocube HQI setup question

Hi,

I need to get a pump for my RKL ATO setup. What I'd like to do is replace the return pump with either a Maxi Jet 1200 or 900 and use the stock Biocube pump for my ATO bucket. Does that sound possible or is the stock pump not strong enough to push the water up 3-4 feet?

You would probably be better off wwith a magdrive 3 or 5. Maxi jets have very low head pressure ratings.

I assume you mean the Mag 350 or 500 to replace the stock pump. Will the stock pump work well as my ATO bucket pump?

Well the manufacturer designation is mag 3 or 5 that simply refers to flowrate in gallons per hour. At around 3-4 feet in vertical distance you can expect to have a fraction of the maximum flowrate so always find one that can go the distance. In regards to the stock pump, i wouldnt use it to push water more than a foot or two up.
