What's the best one I need to get fr a 15 gal column tank. It's a new setup. 10 pounds sand and 15 pounds live rock so far.

Also as far as the levels, salinity is perfect but ph seemed high, do I get hardy fish to help my cycle? And what else do i need to test.

Thanks guys

First let the tank clyce for 3-4 months and test with API SALTWATER MASTER KIT to start off. Then just got to your LFS and get some cheap fish. I believe you dont wanna spend alot of fish that will not survive well in your tank yet. So start off some cheap damsels. If you going to add coral later on too i would wait a few more months after the 3-4 month clycle is over. As for powerhead imo i would go with a korolia 240 two of them one on the right side and the other on left side of the tank good luck.

Adding Damsels is okay if no other fish are added later on as those are some nasty fish.Chromis are much better.

I agree!! Damsels will be almost impossible to get out unless you take out the rock!! I would say let it cycle FULLY and then even get a pair of tank raised clowns! Chromis are nice I have a few, but in a 15 gal you will not be able to put that many fish!

The raw shrimp will supply a source of ammonia, which is what you need to start the cycle. So, basically anything that will produce ammonia, like raw shrimp, clam, squid or live fish, will start the cycle. Basically you use put it into the tank.

Live fish will also provide a source of ammonia, but it's a bad thing to cycle a tank with something live, as the ammonia and nitrites are very deadly and usually will kill most fish. So, it's much better to use something dead instead of something alive.
