Harlequin shrimp

Got a harlequin shrimp yesterday and was wondering how often to feed it a starfish

I have heard every other week and even every month or so what should i do?

I have heard they can go out days not eating untill they appear im front your tank that means there hungry.

I usually do a leg or 2 a week and mine has been happy for a few months now. Good luck, they are awesome!

Okay thanks i have 1 shrimp so a leg a week will work and do you feed cc stars?

I feed him Sand Sifters, Chocolate Chips and even a blue linkia here and there. Careful with the Blue Linkias though, their legs are made of titanium and are darn near impossible to cut. Also, don't put the CC in your tank! I keep a couple of them in the fuge at all tiimes.

Just buy a few star fish, keep them in your fuge and take turns picking a leg or arm off each. They will eventually grow back and you will prob never need to buy star fish. Just ask the shrimp weekly what he would like for diner; leg or arm?

And another thing; i hear its better to keep a pair instead of just one.

You know- starfish have feelings too. Harlequins are pretty as hell but I wouldnt feel right chopping a leg off another creature so I can keep a pretty shrimp. You guys are ruthless lol.

Wow, I agree with Jimmy Rider. I would love to get one, but I cannot see myself cutting a leg off every week or so. Seems cruel.

All I would need is to have my come downstairs into the basement, and see me with a star fish on the cutting board chopping off legs and arms!!!
