I'm shopping for an in sump skimmer for my 55 gallon reef tank. I like the ASM and Aqua C skimmers but they are a little higher than my price range of $100-200. Can anyone recommend a good and QUIET skimmer in this price range. Thanks.:scratchch

someone put up a post for a tunze 9005 its a little big but it will skim great and when you turn into an addict in several months and look for an upgrade in tank size you already have a great skimmer. good luck
I think that they want $195 with a pump sick deal. i don't remember who though

go with aqua c urhin pro, with a mag 7. I get great results. The higher the PSI of a pump the better, but obviously dont go overboard. Anything higher than a mag7 on this i wouldnt recommend.

Thanks everyone. I did go with the Aqua C Urchin Pro with a Rio 1400 pump (rated around 700 gallons per hour). This seems to be a good beginner skimmer yet is easily upgradeable to handle a 120 gallon. I think the one I have will easily handle my 55.
