Dipping mandarin in RO water

Just bought a blue male mandarin from lfs....i can't qt him.

After I drip acclimate with dt water for like 30 min....can I dip him in ro water?

If so for how long? Thanks

Why are you dipping him? Any parasites?

no reason to, mandarin do not have scales and do not get or carry common reef parasites like ich.

Besides, why drip acclimate of you will dip him in RO? The drip acclimate is to equalize the water parameters which are completely different to RO.

Dipping in freshwater is never good. Just medicate fish with copper or hypo. Anyway mandarins usually don't get ich anyway but you should quarantine regardless.

Mandarins are pretty hardy and are actually the last fish that will get a disease. I'm not say it would never but it's hard for them.
