spreading mushrooms question

I have some regular mushroom corals on a rock island. What happens if I place another live rock with yumas or ricordeas right next to my current rock. Will one species overtake the other... or can they spread and both on to the other island and just grow randomly?

Chances are the faster growing coral will over take the other. In this case it would most likely be the shrooms dominating the rics.

Leave some space between the 2 "islands" to prevent losing the rics to the shrooms which most likely grow faster.

You can put them together, just keep an eye on the shrooms and remove them as they start to overgrow.
The fear is the shroom will umbrella over the ric and starve it for light as it starts to overtake the space where the ric recedes.

Over a short time both have a chance to spread. Over 5 years and most likely one wipes out the other.
