First time fragging

My leather finger is getting a little big for his rock island and his fingers are starting to touch the sand. I'm thinking of fragging the finger and keeping that frag on a plug, and maybe trade in the other mother colony for other stuff.

How long after getting your first coral did you wait to frag? and why did you frag?

maybe after a year, depends on how fast the coral grew and because it was getting too big for the tank.

You should look at fragging like gardening. You want to keep your tank looking like what you imagine. And trimming is essential. Take what you frag off and trade it for other coral frags you want.
