I thought it was velvet at first but realized it is ick. I pulled all my fish out of my display tank and put them in qt. I have been treating with hyposalinity. I tried taking pics but it is impossiable to see the little spots on my fish. My ammonia is 0, nitrite 0, nitrate just over 0. I have been lowering my salinity and relaxing now. That was a ruff 6 hours of breaking down my tank and moving water. I wont do this again every fish I get goes in a qt for 3 weeks. I feel bad seeing 3 of my fish sick. It reminds me of having the chicken pox. Thank you everyone for responding. I'm going to try to avoid using any chemicals on my fish, unless I have to. If anyone has any input on my approach I would appreciate it
Your will have to keep you fish in QT for 8-10 weeks. This will let the ick in you main tank live out its life cycle. One more thing are all your fish in QT now?
My fish are all in qt. I have 10 are in a 38 gallon 1 is in a 20 gallon and 1 is in a 10 gallon. I have 2 display tanks a 75 that. Has coral and invertebrates in it. I have been doing water changes every day 10%. I have been doing the same to my 40 breeder. I took a live rock out of my 75 and put it in my 40 because my one angel really liked it then found out I had ich . Talk about mistakes I managed to put ich in a clean tank as if treating one tank wasn't enough. The water changes are killing me I have an. O/R SYSTEM in my kitchen for drinking water that only makes 12 gallons a day. I need to buy one if those 100 day gallon ones.
I have been feeding garlic and they are eating good. Does anyone know what do I do with my yellow wrasse he likes to borrow in sand how does that work in qt
Yep, I would do the copper, and feed as heavy as possible soaked with garlic extreme, as your route may take too long, cupramine seems best and safest imo. If they are eating that is a major plus, if not, do not wait, and do the cupramine.
