Ive actually encountered some of that when I started vodka dosing. It could be a thin form of cyano.

Regardless, the solution to that is increase flow. Algae loves to grow in "dead spots", meaning places with no flow.

Could also be diatoms, do a quick search for the types of algae mentioned here. It'll help you ID it.

Cyano is what I'm going with. Tank is only 4 months old so I figure it will work itself out.

Id say Cyano too...

Whats the tank parameters, light cycle, etc....??

A 4 month old tank is gonna have some kind of problems until you get everything into balance..your parameters may give an indication on how to correct it.

Phos and Nitrate have been 0 for several weeks now. Lights on 9 hours. I figure if anything I'm over feeding a bit.

I'm also wondering if the amount of cyano is really anything to worry about. What you see in the pics is about all of it. The stringy stuff has been there a couple of weeks now and really hasn't gotten any worse. I didn't pull it out because I wanted to see how it played out on it's own. I didn't notice the brown on the rocks until this week. I think I may cut back on the food a bit and not change any of the other things I'm doing unless I notice it getting worse.
