question about my metal stand. I just had my 210 gal reef tank delivered with a metal stand. My plan is to skin a wooden cabinet around it. I noticed that there is about 2/16 gap between the stand and the bottom front and rear edge of the tank. the tank is resting nicely on the left and right edges but not so on the long side of the tank both front and back. My LFS said when I construct the cabinet I should place 3/4 in plywood on top of the stand and rest the tank on the plywood. He claims that he uses metal stands on his 800 gal tanks and has never had a problem doing it this way. Any thoughts? I know i have to level the the stand. But I am just wondering if he is giving my sound advice?
