Cleaning Filter Socks?

Hi guys!

I'm using two filter socks in my sump (one on the tank return and one on the protein skimmer return). They do a great job at removing sediment and curing the microbubble problem. BUT WHATS THE BEST WAY TO CLEAN THEM? I know u have to clean them "religiously" to avoid nitrate production. Thanks!

(By the way, added 150lbs on LR to my 135g tank and everythings looking great! Gonna add another 100lbs of LR this week and then wait for the cycle to end!)

i put them in the washing machine with a little bleach and let them hang dry.

rinse cycle with bleach followed by a rinse cycle with only cold water. They look brand new

I run the wash empty first, to remove any left over soap......then throw it in the wash.
I haven't used bleach.

i just rinse mine out by hand in tap water...looks fine to me after!

How much bleach? Do you run the washer again after the socks before you put your clothes in?

Don't use anymore bleach than you'd use, cleaning regular white laundry.

I do what Jackson does. Small amount of bleech followed by a second cycle without bleech.
