can u mix rocks

so i will be mixing rocks , my diy live rock dry live rock and live rock, will that be ok.

If it's to setup and cycle a tank sure, you can use whatever rock you want. Whether it's cured or not, you're going to have die off during the cycle. Your tank after being cycled will have made all of the rock live.

Lots of people use mostly dry rock and seed it with a few pieces of live rock from an established system.

One thing to mention is dry rock is not live rock. It will be once the cycle is complete and the tank is up for a bit.

But you do plan to purchased live rocks some a LFS or some one else before you put it your set dip it a revive from seachem to kill the hitchhikers on the live rocks.

what about adding dry rock to an already established/aged system?

As long as it's a small amount at a time you'd be ok. You put a piece or 2 in your sump, it'll seed over time. I wouldn't add a large amount all at the same time though.

What about adding LR from a broken down tank in still water. like Lil chunks for small hang on filter

I personally don't thin you'll have any issues. Just have enough water on hand to do a water change if something in your system doesn't like it and shows signs of stress.

If youre worried test the water the rock is in. If it test 0 ammonia and nitrite you should be good to go.
