LR on glass tank

I am starting a 72g SSB with LR. Do I need to put anything on the bottom of my tank or can I place the LR directly on the glass bottom? I just don't want to crack anything. Thanks

Put them in slow and nothing should happen. Use the SSB to shore them up a bit once all the base rocks are in.

Some people use cutting board in their BB tanks would that be good to put under the sandbed?

if you make sure the bottom rocks are pushed all the way down you will have no problem. it's when you place right on the sand,fish and snails dig under them and can cause an avalanche.

i also use eggcrate, that is proped up off the glass with peices of pvc. Seems a waste to bury the liverock into a DSB.
