I have an overflow box that attaches on the back of my tank. Its conmected by pvc and has a few bends. What is the best way to start the flow and be able to restart incase of a power outage? Thanks for your help.

See post # 10 on the thread below for an easy way to start the siphon through the U-Tube (assuming you are using a U-tube :))

If that doesn't answer your question - please post a pic of the area of concern.

You can mod this mod a little further by taking the airline and doing one of 2 things to it:

1) get an Aqua Clear 20 powerhead or similiar and connect the airline to the air intake of the AC20 powerhead.

2) get an Aqualifter pump and hook it up to that airline and let it dump into the display or into the skimmer box section of the overflow or even the rear half of the overflow box.

Either of those methods will start up the U-tube in the event of a power outage even if you aren't home.
