I just put sand into my Solana 34 gallon. I don't have any media yet in my media rack, however, I wanted to let the sand settle over night and then fill the media rack tomorrow when I have more time. Should I be concerned about my return pump possibly becoming clogged overnight and thus causing some sort of disaster? Or is there anything else I should be aware of as well?

I'd at least put some foam - or whatever you have in the media basket to pick up some of the sand particles and then rinse it out tomorrow and put it back in.
Why worry about it affecting your pump when you don't have to?

I have in there the plastic filter-floss pad right at the overflow. I don't have any foam tonight. Would it be a bad idea to lower the water level a bit so it doesn't overflow and then just run my powerhead through the night? Thanks for the response Kathy
