12g nanocube...quick question

My brother in law gave me a 12g nano cube with all the equipment. My question is...put live sand and live rocks in there...and my grl friend gives me like 3-4 gallon of water from her established tank...can i just add some more water in and have a cycled tank...Later on today i will post up some pics of my tank(s)

No it will need to cycle again on it's own

its the ls and rocks that causes the cycle, but if they were also from her tank your cycle will be very short

well the LS and LR that i put in was from a 2 day old cycling tank but doesn't my girlfriends water already have all the bacteria needed because her tank is cycled already...

and one more question...

when i turn off the light for the nano...how come it keeps blinking every few seconds...i just replaced the bulb today..i got the bulb from fish town

well even if the water is from her tank, there are still stuff on your rocks that's dead, dying or decaying, and besides most bacteria aren't suspended in solution if i rmemeber correctly.

what kind of lighting you have? Doesn't sound normal

the light that i have is the stock light from the nano
when i recieved the tank the light was out...so i replaced it with a 24w blue actinic bulb from fish town

and plus..the rocks i have were cured already before i put it in my cycling tank....

if you put the rocks in...wait a day and if all your levels are fine then go for it, if not wait
