i've been doing fresh water for 8 years and now i am starting my first salt water tank. does anyone have any tips? can anyone tell me the best set up and what i need? i have a 55 gallon with a 30 gallon sump I'm trying to set up.
best and hardest advice to follow: take it slow, and read read read i set up my first saltwater about 3 months ago after coming from and african cichlid tank of about 2 years and all i can say is it is an entirely new ball game. there is a lot to learn and it will definitely be a learning experience but well worth it. good luck with everything!
Read through some of the tank threads and get idea what other reefers went with for there system. But the most important part of a saltwater tank is definetly having patience. It's a slow process. That shouldn't be rushed. It will just turn into problems down the road. Do lots of planning and feel free to post question. There are lots of useful info on these forums. Plus if you don't find the info you need. I know there are plenty of fellow reefers that know the answer. Just post a question and you will have your answer. This site is great for beginners as well. Best of luck!!!
