I am looking into getting a Tridacna clam , am I better off getting a aquacultured one. Are the aqua cultured ones not as colorfull? This is just an idea my tank is young so any recommendations for a first clam?

It's all depends on your lighting ...,clams need good light and great water so if your tank is new I would rush ... I have over 6 clams .. Just don't rush and wait it out

Clams also need a tank that is stable and can keep up with its heavy calcium requirements. Keeping up with these items allow for healthy and happy clams.

I have ai sol blues . My system is abot 50 gallons I do 5 to 8 gallon wc a week. I only have a few frags and 2 fish

You should wait a little while on the clam. Your lighting is good for them but you want your tank to mature a lil more

and when he says a little while... it is not recommended putting a clam into a tank under 1 year old.
