Bad algae or good?! It's showing up!

Does it grow a lot during the day and then receed in the night? For example when you wake up in the morning is there a significantly less amount of it?

Some of mine actually does this...what does it mean?

My reef has always had some red turf algae in it and I like it. Gives it a more natural appearance. If it doesn't blow off rather easy,thats what it is, don't worry about it.

It doesn't seem to fray up but while I read i seem to think it can be turf but I'm noticing an increase, not much but it's def there. I just don't want it to overtake my tank. I was making a big mistake and using tap water for my changes with prime and cycle support n that's why I think offset it but I didn't know any better. Now I purchase ro/di water weekly in hopes that it'll subside. Thanks for all the responses!
