I just got my new pinpoint ph probe in the mail to hook up to my RK. it came with a white cap on it with cotton and some liquid.

Do I just remove the cap and put it in the sump? It didnt come with instructions and want to know what this liquid is.

The pH electrode bulb needs to be kept moist at all times. You should calibrate it prior to using it.

Ooops, missed your question. Yes, just remove the cap and it'll be ready to be used.

You also will need to calibrate it on the controller with 7.0 and 10.0 reference solution for it to be accurate as Widdy stated.
This should be done to all new probes and periodically with probes in service. Also any probe in combination with any controller that has not been calibrated prior with that specific probe.
