A good sump is one that you make or have made to utilize in any way you like.

The best stands are the ones you make yourself or have built for you so you can have it the way you like and fit what you have to

And for the filter sock i dot like using them cause of the extra work to clean them and im not one for putting saltwater filled socks in my washer machine. But it takes particles out of the water and helps with microbubbles

In my opinion a filter sock is a must of you are going to keep SPS unless you have a monster skimmer and tons of water circulation in the tank (even with a monster skimmer you will find that the filter sock turns brown/black by the end of the week). I change out my filter sock once a week. (I have 4 for each tank) At the end of the month I turn the dirty filter socks inside out and wash them in the washing machine with hot water and clorox (plain clorox, about 2 cups or more- won't harm them or the tank)

Let them air dry and voila!
