Starting over

Well I'm starting over my DT after losing most of it to sandy. When I do get my power back I want to get started on cleaning it up and keep the rock heated. What do you guys think about me keeping the sand or not? I had a gbta, lps coral, softies, zoas, many crabs and snails. Everything died except two fish 2 shrimp and a small bunch of cleaners. Thanks for any input

You're definitely going to get varying opinions on this, but I say rinse it. Can't remember which thread but even Albano has rinsed sand for his massive tanks.

I would say start with what you have - it'll take some time but it will come back to normal - keep the skimmer running hard and carbon running where possible.

Keep everything as is, take out anything that is dead and do as house said.
