I just ordered API Saltwater Master kit for $21 @ drfosters shipped its on sale right now. That had ammonia test +nitri.&ate, n stuff.
Reef master has alkalinity n calcium. Is it necessary or would it suffice to add buffer with top off water? Its 3 gallons

I dont recommend that you or any one purchase a used RO DI. For you to be sure the used unit is going to work efficiently you will need to replace all of the filters including the membrane, do the math.

You are better off going on Bulk Reef Supply and building your own unit and its not a huge expense.

Ic. Replacement cartridges are mad expensive anyway. I've heard deionization is not necessary sometimes bad. Thoughts? There's a 75 gpd unit for 80 bucks.

I might get the used bc it has di as opposed to the cheapest one on brs. Cartridges are 6$ and resin costs 40$..
What parts do u need to build one? Thx

They sell kits on BRS (Bulk Reef Supply). RO/DI is so vital to an environment. That I would not get cheap on because it will cost you a lot more down the line as many reefers told you already.

I have a buddy that bought a used unit and it wound up costing him almost double the price of a new unit after replacing all the cartridges , fixing the auto shut off and fittings and hunting down a flow restrictor. Not to mention after the nightmare of doing all that, he is now looking to purchase a new one. Go to filterdirect.com and check out the rd-102 unit. Its 6 stage 100gpd RO/DI and its $150 shipped
